How do I host an instant meeting in Zoom?

Home tab

To start an instant meeting from the Zoom Desktop Client Home tab:

  1. Sign in to the Zoom Desktop Client.
  2. Click the Home tab.
  3. (Optional) Click the down arrow down-arrow-button.png for the following instant meeting options:
    • Start with video: This begins your instant meeting with your video enabled.
    • Use My Personal Meeting ID: Your Personal Meeting ID (PMI) accesses your personal meeting room which is a virtual room that is permanently reserved for you.
  4. Click New Meeting new-meeting-with-video-button.png to start an instant meeting.

Chat

To start an instant meeting while in a chat with a contact or channel:

  1. Sign in to the Zoom Desktop Client.
  2. Click the Chat tab.
  3. Select a contact or channel name to open a chat.  
  4. (Optional) By the video camera button video-on-button.png, click the down arrow down-arrow-button.png to select the Meet with video option.
  5. Click the video camera button video-on-button.png to start an instant meeting.
